SFX City Theatre, Dublin
City Theatre Dublin (formerly SFX Hall) is a theatre located in Dublin, Ireland, founded in 1984. It is currently just a producing company that puts on over 300 shows each year in over 50 venues around the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Its productions include ''Sisters'', ''The Hostage'', ''The Matchmaker'', ''The Vagina Monologues'', and ''The Cuchulain Cycle'', as well as highly acclaimed annual Christmas shows for children. In 2008, City Theatre Dublin ran productions of ''The Importance of Being Earnest'' with Dillie Keane and ''Love Letters'' with David Soul and Jerry Hall.
The venue, SFX Hall (short for ''Saint Francis Xavier Hall''), used to host concerts until 2001, but this practice stopped and concerts were rehoused at the Ambassador Theatre.
==Cecelia Ahern==
On 17 September 2008, it was announced that City Theatre Dublin, in conjunction with MCD, would be producing Cecelia Ahern's first play ''Mrs. Whippy'', based on her novella of the same name. The show is set to run in Dublin's Liberty Hall Theatre in late October. The show is to star Marion O'Dwyer as the lead role of Emelda.
